Privacy and website analytics
BAUWN keeps its website measurement first-party and deliberately minimal. We do not sell data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not use hidden device fingerprinting.
Website analytics
When you visit bauwn.com we record the pages you view, the page you arrived on, the website or campaign that referred you, your website language, and a broad device category (desktop, tablet or mobile). This tells us which work and materials people are looking for so we can improve the site.
Approximate location
Your approximate location - normally country, and sometimes region or city - is estimated from the network connection your request arrives on. We never ask for GPS or browser location permission, and we never show or store a street address. The estimate can be inaccurate on VPNs, mobile networks and business connections.
IP addresses
Your IP address is used only in the moment your request is handled, to estimate that approximate location and to protect the site. It is not written to our analytics records.
Session data
We use two first-party cookies: a short-lived session value and a random visitor value. They contain no name, email or personal detail and are not shared with other websites. They exist so that opening several pages counts as one visit rather than many separate visitors.
Forms
Details you type into a contact, sample, quote or registration form are stored so we can answer you, and are handled separately from anonymous website analytics. A visit only becomes connected to a name once you choose to submit a form.
Retention
Individual session records are deleted automatically after 90 days. Aggregated weekly statistics, which contain no individual session detail, may be kept longer.
Opting out
You can switch off analytics for this browser at any time. We also honour the Do Not Track setting your browser sends.
