What information is needed for a quotation?
The material, the application, an approximate quantity and the project location are enough to begin. Anything further - drawings, profiles, dimensions or a delivery window - allows BAUWN to prepare a more precise quotation.
Can I request a quote without final dimensions?
Yes. Approximate areas or linear metres are sufficient at this stage. Quantities can be confirmed once the project is reviewed.
Can BAUWN recommend a timber and surface?
Yes. Select “I would like BAUWN to recommend” and describe the application. A recommendation is then made on the basis of exposure, orientation and the intended character of the surface.
What is the difference between KAEN and KIME?
KAEN retains the carbon layer created through controlled charring, keeping the deepest texture. KIME is charred and then brushed to reveal the grain before the selected colour finish is applied.
Which timber and colour combinations are available?
Larch is available in KAEN and KIME Black, Sand Grey and Dark Oak. Japanese Cedar is available in KAEN and KIME Black, Sand Grey and Amber. Accoya® is available in KAEN and KIME Black.
Which profile does BAUWN recommend for charred cladding?
Half-lap / shadow-gap is the recommended standard profile for charred cladding.
Is full tongue and groove available?
Full tongue and groove is available on request for charred timber.
Which profiles are available for reclaimed wood?
Reclaimed wood is available in tongue and groove (T&G) and planed all round (PAR). Custom profiles can be discussed.
Can I upload architectural drawings?
Yes. Drawings, elevations, plans, schedules and photographs can be attached to the request in the project step.
Can I order material samples first?
Yes. Samples can be ordered at any point without losing your quotation progress, which is saved on your device.
Does BAUWN arrange delivery?
Delivery assistance can be requested within the form and is confirmed as part of the quotation.
Can BAUWN assist with installation?
Installation support can be discussed. Indicate whether installation is required, or request advice, in the project step.
Is the submitted request a binding quotation?
No. The request is an enquiry. A quotation is prepared and confirmed by BAUWN after the project has been reviewed.
