Villa in KIME Black charred larch, Algarve

Set into the pine landscape above the coast, this villa stacks two pale rendered volumes over a recessed ground floor. Every inset plane - the ground storey, the loggia returns and the first-floor screens - is clad in vertical KIME Black charred larch with a PAR profile, so the timber reads as shadow behind the crisp white frames.

The boards are brushed after charring, leaving a soft, even black with the grain raised and open. Under the strong Portuguese light the surface stays matt rather than glossy, and the vertical rhythm of the PAR boards continues across sliding screens, doors and pergola beams without interruption.

Around the pool terrace the same cladding wraps the lower volume and the covered lounge, tying architecture, shading structures and landscape into one dark, tactile field. Charred larch was specified here for its dimensional stability and UV resilience in a hot, dry coastal climate.
