Garden atelier in KAEN Carbon charred Accoya, Dordrecht
Dordrecht, Netherlands
A freestanding garden atelier and workshop store in Dordrecht, clad on every elevation in KAEN Carbon charred Accoya with a shadow gap profile.

At the end of a mature Dordrecht garden, a compact monopitch volume houses a workshop and garden store. It is clad continuously in KAEN Carbon charred Accoya, wrapping the walls, the return and the flush door in one uninterrupted dark surface.
The shadow gap profile lets each board line read as a fine horizontal seam, with all fixings concealed. Left unbrushed, the carbon crust holds a soft, matte depth that sits quietly behind planting and the weathered teak terrace furniture.
Accoya was specified for its dimensional stability and Class 1 durability: an outbuilding this exposed stays flat, tight and maintenance-light for decades, while the charred surface needs no coating to hold its colour.
