Our first British delivery: a single-storey, flat-roofed modern dwelling house set into a wooded plot in East Sussex, clad on every elevation in KAEN Carbon charred larch.
The boards are supplied PAR - planed all round - and fixed vertically over a ventilated cavity, so the wall reads as a continuous run of fine shadow lines from the plinth to the black roof trim.
Left unbrushed, the carbon crust shifts through the day: silver-grey and reptilian in flat overcast light, absolute black in sun. Larch window and door surrounds are the only warm note in the elevation, and they will silver down over time to sit quietly against the char.
