Lodge joinery and wall lining in Brushed Natural reclaimed timber, Iceland

Iceland · 2025

A private lodge in Iceland lined and fitted throughout in brushed reclaimed timber: kitchen and bar fronts, shelving, doors and full-height wall and ceiling linings.

Kitchen island and cabinetry in brushed reclaimed timber

1 / 4

Brushed Natural reclaimed boards run through the whole interior, from the concrete-topped kitchen island to the wine bar, the spa corridor and the sliding barn doors. The weathered grey has been brushed away to reveal the timber's own honey-to-chestnut brown, with nail holes and saw marks intentionally left in place.

Boards are installed in T&G profile on walls and ceilings, and the same stock is machined into joinery fronts so cabinetry and lining read as one continuous material against pale concrete and stone.

Under warm interior light the raised grain holds a low relief that keeps the large surfaces from flattening - the reason the finish is specified so often for hospitality and lodge interiors.
